1. Introduction
This Policy forms part of the Solar Lane Terms and Conditions, and so words defined in the Terms and Conditions have the same meaning in this Policy, unless the context indicates otherwise.
This Returns Policy applies within the number of days stated below of your purchase. After this period, you can only return a product if it is defective. There will be no option for a refund or an exchange, however, the manufacturer’s warranty may apply under circumstances as specified in Section 6.
2. Returns less than 7 days
You may return goods within 7 (seven) days of date of the receipt without reason; returned will attract a handling charge of 0-8% of invoiced amount and you will be entitled to a refund provided:
Your item must be in the same condition that you received it;
All goods must be undamaged, unused and unopened, with the original labels, stickers and seal’s still attached, include all manuals, cables, packaging material, manuals, blank warranty cards, software and be in the original packaging;
You can provide proof of purchase from Solar Lane.
You are responsible for the cost of returning the goods back to Solar Lane.
It is your responsibility to cover insurance for the goods that you are shipping to Solar Lane as we cannot guarantee that we will receive them.
When Goods are delivered, it is your responsibility to check whether any damage may have taken place during transportation. For insurance purposes, any discrepancies and/or visible defects must be noted on the delivery note/waybill.
Before returning the goods, please send email to info@solarlane.co.za, describing your intention to return the goods. Kindly use your order number as your reference number.
On receiving the Goods, Solar Lane will inspect them and thereafter notify you of the approval or rejection of a refund.
Solar Lane will ensure that your refund is processed before the end of 20 days from the day the goods are received.
3. Refunds for unwanted goods
For any unwanted goods, Solar Lane may offer a refund of 0-8% of the paid amount to the client.
This refund range reflects the handling and administrative costs involved in processing returns, including restocking and quality checks to ensure the items are in suitable condition for resale or repurposing. Additionally, it accounts for potential depreciation of goods. Solar Lane aims to provide clients with flexibility while balancing the operational costs tied to managing product returns.
4. Exchanges
You may exchange goods up to 14 (Fourteen) days of date of the receipt for goods of a similar cost provided:
The item that you are returning is in the same condition that you received it;
All goods must be undamaged, unused and unopened, with the original labels, stickers and seal’s still attached, include all manuals, cables, packaging material, manuals, blank warranty cards, software and be in the original packaging;
You can provide proof of purchase from Solar Lane.
You are responsible for the cost of returning the goods back to Solar Lane and furthermore, Solar Lane will bill you the shipping of the exchanged goods back to you.
Before returning the goods, please send email to info@solarlane.co.za, describing your intention to exchange the goods so that you can be provided with a reference number.
It is your responsibility to cover insurance for the goods that you are shipping to Solar Lane as we cannot guarantee that we will receive them.
On receiving the Goods, Solar Lane will inspect them and thereafter notify you of the approval or rejection of an exchange.
Solar Lane will then send you a new invoice that reflects shipping as well as any top-up or shortfall from the exchange process.
The process will thereafter follow normal purchase procedure with respect to item availability, pre-orders, billing, payments and shipping.
5. Delivery Errors
If Solar Lane has made a delivery to you and it can be proved that the consignment has errors that were caused by Solar Lane, the goods must be returned UNOPENED back to Solar Lane within 10 days of delivery.
The goods must be unused and must be returned in the same condition that you received it.
Solar Lane will take the responsibility of collecting the goods from where they were delivered.
Before the goods can be collected, please send email to info@solarlane.co.za, describing the error and the intention to return the goods so that you can be provided with a reference number.
On receiving the Goods, Solar Lane will inspect them and thereafter notify you of the approval or rejection of the goods.
If rectifying the error includes any refund, Solar Lane will ensure that this is processed before the end of 20 days from the day the goods are received.
6. Defective products
Any goods supplied by Solar Lane are subject to the manufacturer’s warranty;
It is your responsibility to complete your warranty cards immediately on opening or on installation and to send them to the manufacturer directly to facilitate a seamless warranty process, whenever required.
Solar Lane can only assist you, as far as reasonably possible, to try and enforce a warranty against the manufacturer of goods on your behalf.
You will be required to invoke the warranty directly with the manufacturer
The following are not regarded as defects and will generally not entitle you to a warranty claim:
Faults resulting from normal wear and tear;
Damage arising from negligence, user abuse or incorrect usage of the product;
Damage arising from electrical surges or sea air corrosion;
Damage arising from a failure to adequately care for the product;
Damage arising from unauthorised alterations to the product; and
Where the specifications of a product, although accurately described on the Website and generally fit for its intended purpose, do not suit you.
